A product page shows 4.9 stars and eight hundred reviews, and you still cannot tell how many of them mean anything. This reads the reviews already loaded on Tokopedia and Shopee product pages, scores them from 0 to 100, and lists the specific patterns behind the number.

Ever unsure whether a product's reviews can be trusted?

CekAman reads the reviews already shown on Tokopedia & Shopee product pages and turns trust signals into a 0–100 score:

⚠️ These are heuristic reference signals — not a verdict that any review or seller is fake.

Privacy: Nothing is sent to any server. It works only on the page you're viewing and collects no personal data.

What it does

  • Sponsored / gifted reviews

phrases like "produk disponsori", "dikirim gratis untuk review", "endorse"

  • Date bursts

many reviews on the same day (a review-farming sign)

  • Short / duplicate reviews

    very short or repeated text

  • Rating skew

an unnatural pile-up of 5-star ratings

When you'd reach for it

  • Deciding between two near-identical listings

Two sellers, same product, both sitting near five stars. A panel appears above the review section on each page with a score and a breakdown, so you can compare what is behind the rating instead of the rating itself. A listing whose reviews are mostly one-word text lands differently from one with dated, detailed reviews.

  • Spotting reviews that were paid for or gifted

The dictionary looks for Indonesian phrasing that reviewers use when a product arrived free or as part of a campaign, along with wording about coins, points or cashback given for writing a review. Any share above zero is shown as a percentage of the reviews on the page, with a heavier weight than the other signals.

  • Catching review farming by date

Genuine reviews arrive scattered over weeks; batches arrive on one afternoon. Dates are parsed from both dd/mm/yyyy stamps and Indonesian relative dates like "3 bulan lalu", then measured for concentration. If a single day holds an outsized share of the page's reviews, that shows up as its own signal with the percentage attached.

Permissions & privacy

Single purpose

Analyze reviews already displayed on Tokopedia and Shopee product pages and show heuristic trust signals as an on-page 0–100 badge. The extension does not scrape, crawl, or fetch anything; it only reads what is already visible to the user.

storageCekAman uses the storage permission to cache the most recent trust-signal analysis result locally via chrome.storage.local, so the popup can show the latest score without re-scanning the page. All data stays on the user's device and is never transmitted externally.

Questions people ask

How do I check whether Tokopedia or Shopee reviews are real?

Open the product page and scroll to the review section. A panel is inserted just above it with a 0 to 100 score, a verdict band, and the signals that lowered the score. It needs at least three reviews detected on the page before it renders anything.

How is the 0 to 100 score calculated?

It starts at 100 and subtracts penalties for five things: reviews matching sponsored or gifted phrasing, reviews mentioning points or cashback in exchange for a review, reviews clustered onto the same day, very short or duplicated text, and a pile-up of 4.5-plus ratings that coincides with a high share of short reviews. Sponsored wording carries the largest weight, then short and duplicate text, then date bursts. Seventy-five and above reads as good, 45 to 74 as caution, below 45 as warning.

Does a low score mean the seller is faking reviews?

No. These are heuristic pattern counts over the reviews visible on one page, not a determination about any review, buyer or seller. Honest reviews are often short, and a seller running a legitimate campaign will accumulate sponsored-phrase matches. Read the listed signals and their percentages as a prompt to look closer, not as a conclusion.

Why is there no panel on the page I am looking at?

The panel only draws when it can find a review section and pull at least three reviews out of it. Category pages, search results and listings with almost no reviews will show nothing. It also only runs on tokopedia.com and shopee.co.id, so a Shopee storefront on another country domain is out of scope. The panel text and signal names are written in Indonesian.

What permissions does it declare, and what does it store?

The manifest declares one permission, storage, plus host access to two domains: *.tokopedia.com and shopee.co.id. Storage is used to cache the most recent trust-signal result in chrome.storage.local — the score, the page URL and a timestamp — so the toolbar popup can show the last result without re-scanning the page. The two host entries are the reason the panel appears on those domains and nowhere else, and the reviews it works from are the ones already loaded in the page you opened.
