Right-clicking through a page of character art one picture at a time gets old by about the fourth image. This puts a Download images button in the bottom-right corner of character.ai, shows how many pictures it found, and sends all of them to your downloads folder.
Saving images from Character.AI one at a time is slow. This adds a one-click button that grabs the character avatars and scene images on the page and saves them all to your Downloads.
Open a character or chat, click Download images, and every image on the page is saved with a sensible name. It reads only the image links already on the page and never uploads anything.

Keeping a copy of a character's artwork
Creators edit their characters, and the avatar you liked can be replaced without warning. Open the character page and the button in the corner already carries a count of the images it can see. One click saves them, each one arriving as a separate file rather than a screenshot of the layout.
Saving the scene images from a long chat
Pictures generated during a conversation are scattered through the thread, and grabbing them individually means scrolling back and forth. Scroll the chat so the images you want have actually rendered — the count on the button updates as the page changes — then click once and the whole set is downloaded.
Building a reference folder of avatars
Browse or search pages show a lot of character portraits at once. Because each file is named from the image's alt text rather than the raw URL, the folder you end up with is readable instead of a wall of hashes. Files with the same name get a numeric suffix instead of overwriting each other.

how to download all images from character.ai
Open a character, chat, or browse page on character.ai and look at the bottom-right corner: there is a Download images button with the number of pictures currently detected. Clicking it saves each one to your normal downloads folder, one after another, and a small message tells you how many were saved. There is no per-file save dialog.
Where do the images go and how are the files named?
They go to your browser's default download location. The name comes from the image's alt text on the page, stripped of characters that filenames can't contain and cut to a sane length, with a number added so a page of similar images doesn't collapse into one file. The extension keeps the original format, so a .webp on the page stays a .webp on disk.
Why does it say no images were found?
It only counts images the page has actually rendered and that are visibly larger than a UI icon, in PNG, JPG, or WebP form. If a gallery loads as you scroll, the pictures further down don't exist in the page yet — scroll until they appear and the count on the button will climb. Images that are still loading behind a placeholder are also invisible to it.
What permissions does it need?
The manifest declares one permission, downloads, which is what lets it hand files to Chrome's download system. Its script runs only on character.ai addresses, so it has no reach into any other site you have open. When a download starts, your browser fetches the picture from the same address the page was already showing it from.
Can I choose which images to download?
No — the button takes everything it detects on the current page in one go, so there's no checkbox list to work through. In practice you control the selection by which page you're on: a single character page yields that character's images, while a browse page yields the whole grid. This is an independent extension and is not affiliated with Character.AI.
